ART 454 - Advanced Studio Practices Prerequisite(s): ART 202 ART 211 ART 221 ART 311 ART 341 ART 342 ART 441 This studio based course is a culmination of student’s visual arts and liberal arts education. Students are provided the time, space, and individual instructional guidance to develop and refine an interdisciplinary portfolio of work which visualizes their artistic and multidisciplinary interests into one conceptual theme based on their acquired knowledge from previous courses. Students will be required to create a strong series of artwork in the medium or mediums of their choice which reflects on a contemporary issue. In addition to creating original works with a cohesive theme, there
will be regular group critiques and reading assignments. Students will also fully develop a written artist statement based on extensive research and exemplified through their practice. This course is designed to fully prepare students for Senior Portfolio.
