EDU 467 - Secondary Internship and edTPA Concepts and Supports

Prerequisite(s): Admission to the School of Education. EDU 354 and EDU 396
Co-requisite(s): EDU 407 and EDU 417
This course integrates a 15-week internship in a 6-12 grade public school classroom with intensive edTPA preparation. Through active participation in the classroom alongside a mentor teacher, you will gain invaluable practical experience while developing the knowledge and skills necessary for licensure. Additionally, the course provides comprehensive support and guidance as you design, implement, and assess your teaching through the creation of a mock edTPA portfolio aligned with the NC Professional Educator Preservice Standards. When Offered: Fall. Fee $150 course fee Note Students must complete 60 hour of field work. They will receive 3 formal evaluations by the instructor aligned with the NC Preservice Professional Educator Standards.
