PAP 563 - Emergency Medicine
In this course, students learn to evaluate and treat patients presenting to the emergency department. The emphasis is on the priority of stabilizing patients with life-threatening trauma or illness and selecting appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic measures. Students are required to become ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advance Life Support) certified or recertified, as well as maintain BLS (Basic Life Support), in anticipation of clinical rotations.
