HES 452G - Global Health & Ethics
Prerequisite(s): Student must be classified as junior or senior. This course explores a series of contemporary health issues and challenges for the international community. The impact of political, socioeconomic, cultural, environmental, healthcare delivery and demographic conditions on health and human rights from an international perspective are discussed. Topics include: population dynamics, water and sanitation, HIV/AIDS, technology, international organizations, climate change, pharmaceutical policies, and food delivery. Additionally, various ethical dimensions of public health policy and practice are related to population health issues.
