HES 300 - Exercise Physiology
Prerequisite(s): BIO 282 . A lecture and laboratory course which emphasizes understanding and application of knowledge regarding human cardiopulmonary, muscular and metabolic responses to exercise and adaptations to chronic physical activity. Application of this knowledge includes healthy individuals as well as patient populations (e. g. , cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, diabetes, asthma, endocrine disorders, sports injury, etc. ). Laboratory experiences are provided to aid in understanding the basic principles underlying the responses of the body to various exercise stimuli.
