ART 221 - Painting I
Prerequisite(s): ART 211 This is a beginning level course designed to introduce the student to basic materials and painting techniques. Emphasis is placed on perception, observation, and expressivity. All paintings are produced from real life observation. In addition to creating original paintings from life, there will be regular class critiques, reading assignments, and writing assignments. The student is also expected to develop an artistic discipline and an understanding of the artist’s language. When Offered: Fall
