GER 341 - German-language Film Prerequisite(s): One prior course at 200-level, or instructor permission. Students will view and discuss feature-length films and some shorter videos in German. The objectives of the course are to develop students’ linguistic skills; their understanding of German-speaking societies and some of their relevant contemporary issues; as well as to practice the critical thinking necessary to reflect on and evaluate the films. In their process of development, students will experience linguistic and cultural differences (e. g. humor) and have opportunities to discuss their findings with members of Germanspeaking cultures.
