NUR 440 - Competencies for Critical Illness Management


Prerequisite(s): NUR 325  , NUR 330  , NUR 332  , NUR 334  , NUR 336  , NUR 340  , all with minimum grade of C-/1.7; and HES 288  .
Building on previous knowledge, this course promotes the development of competencies associated with critical illness management. Students will learn about concepts associated with the care of the critically ill individual. This course has a clinical component to promote the application of concepts learned in the course. This course will also develop professional nursing competencies related to knowledge for nursing practice, person-centered care, quality and safety, information and healthcare technologies, inter-professional partnerships, systems-based practice, professionalism, and personal, professional, and leadership development.  When Offered: Fall.
