NUR 435 - Concepts of Evidence Based Practice in Nursing



Prerequisite(s): Completion of all 300 Level Courses
Prerequisite(s) or Co-requisite(s): MAT 116   or  MAT 215  

This course builds on previous nursing knowledge and competencies and examines the research process as it relates to the practice of nursing. The concepts of risk, quality improvement, legal regulations, communication, information management, ethics, and knowledge development are explored in depth. It provides a foundation for critiquing research studies as a basis for applying evidence to nursing practice. In conjunction with a liberal arts education and previously acquired nursing knowledge, this course primarily focuses on the development of the competencies of evidence-based practice, professional values and ethics, and quality and safety.
