MAT 116 - Introduction to Statistics
An introduction to some of the basic concepts and procedures common to many applications of statistics. Topics include descriptive statistics, a brief study of probability, distributions of selected discrete and continuous random variables, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, correlation, and regression. The course will incorporate relevant examples and applications of statistics in a variety of disciplines throughout. This course is designed to meet the needs of all liberal arts students. A student may not receive credit for MAT 116 after successful completion of MAT 215. When Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer.
