A minor in Music Education is open ony to Music majors and requires 20-22 hours consisting of the following:

MUS 265 - Harmony and Musicianship II Hours: 4
MUS 422 - Elementary and Intermediate Classroom Music Methods Hours: 2
FAC 305 - Practicum Hours: 1

Instrumentalists Track (11 hours)

MUS 210 - Brass Techniques Hours: 1
MUS 211 - Percussion Techniques Hours: 1
MUS 212 - String Techniques Hours: 1
MUS 213 - Woodwind Techniques Hours: 1
MUS 421 - Instrumental Conducting and Literature Hours: 3
MUS 424 - Instrumental Methods Hours: 2
MUS 151 - Music Ensembles Hours: 1
* MUS 151X Marching Band - must earn at least 2 hours

Vocalist Track (9 hours)

MUS 214 - Vocal Techniques Hours: 1
MUS 420 - Choral Conducting and Literature Hours: 3
MUS 423 - Choral Music Methods Hours: 2
MUS 151 - Music Ensembles Hours: 1
* A total of 3 hours of secondary choral ensembles (other than A Cappella Choir) is required.
