Science Communication Minor

The interdisciplinary minor in Science Communication is available to undergraduate students interested in developing their abilities in communicating about science to public audiences. It is open to students in all undergraduate majors who want to deepen and broaden their knowledge of how citizens make sense of science and technology in their everyday lives. Students take science courses, communication courses, and a capstone course that engages students on more advanced topics such as climate change, pandemics, and environmental communication.

Minor Requirements (23-26 Hours)
Science courses, three courses from three different categories (choose 9-12 credits)
Communication Courses (9 hours)
Science Communication Electives
Choose 3 hours from the following:
- ART 383 - Environmental Art
- ENG 281 - Creative Writing
- ENG Special Topics (Created for Minor)
- THR Special Topics (Created for Minor)
- REL Special Topics (Created for Minor)
- LRU Special Topics (Created for Minor)
- Other courses as approved.
Science Communication Capstone (2 hours)
