BEARS CLUB The Bears Club is the official fundraising arm of Lenoir-Rhyne University Athletics. Founded in 1946, the Bears Club coordinates the annual athletic fundraising, capital and endowment gifts for Lenoir-Rhyne Athletics. The purpose of the Bears Club is to support athletic scholarships and program costs for Lenoir-Rhyne’s 22 men’s and women’s intercollegiate athletic teams.

Music Performance Minor

A minor in Music Performance prepares students with a performing proficiency in organ, piano, voice, or any of the orchestral instruments (brass, winds, strings, percussion). Coursework focuses on the fundamentals of music, including classical music.

Minor Requirements

A minor in Music Performance requires a minimum of 19 credits consisting of the following:

MUS 105 - Keyboard Harmony I Hours: 1
MUS 160 - Fundamentals of Music Theory I Hours: 4
MUS 165 - Fundamentals of Music Theory II Hours: 3
MUS 112 - Understanding Concert Music Hours: 3
MUS 131 - Applied Music-lower Division Hours: 1 (repeat for a total of 4 credits.)
MUS 151A - A Cappella Choir or MUS 151L - Wind Symphony Hours: 1 (repeat for a total of 4 credits.)
MUS 214 - Vocal Techniques Hours: 1 (Voice principals only)
