EDU 629 - Multimedia Design & Instruction


This course explores Multimedia instruction research, allowing students to critique multimedia design principles and their use to create effective online design content. Students will examine cognitive load theory and motivational types of engagement to evaluate how these factors can enhance or hinder learners’ engagement with online content. Students will also begin to design multimedia projects.

This course will dive deep into a minimum of three multimedia technologies, and explore how they can be used to enhance instruction and learning. Students will be able to apply knowledge and skills learned from this course to any multimedia tool of choice for designing effective learning.
