COU 525 - Professional Orientation and Ethical Practices This course is the first in the initial sequence of Tier 1 coursework required for a candidacy to the Counseling degree Programs. This course is designed to address ethical and legal considerations for professional counseling. This course will involve the study of current information and decision making skills related to legal and ethical and professional issues in counseling. The course has two primary objectives: (1) to help you develop an understanding and awareness of the specific knowledge and skills related to ethical and legal issues in counseling, (2) to develop decision making skills related to ethical/legal situations in counseling.
