CHS 600 - Lutheranism in North America Pre-requisite: Senior status This course surveys the history of Lutheranism in the United States in its theological, social, cultural and linguistic contexts. Students study the defining moments, impulses, and issues that Lutherans have faced throughout their history in this country, providing an important foundation for future leaders of the church. Students will gain an understanding of their own denominational heritage and will also develop and understanding of the various local traditions and expressions encountered today within contemporary Lutheranism.
