BIB 631 - The Apocalypse of John This course will examine the New Testament’s final book within the context of Jewish and early Christian apocalyptic writings and within the culture of the first century Asia Minor. Attention will be given to how this book has been interpreted through the centuries, with particular attention paid to artistic interpretations. In addition, the course will study and critique current popular and scholarly readings of the book, as well as the impact of diverse cultural contexts on the interpretation of the book. Church in Context elective.
