ENG 247 - Literary Time Travel

Prerequisite(s) or Co-requisite(s): ENG 131 , WRD 102 , or HON 102 .

This course introduces students to key philosophies and literary movements that help to make up the history of British and American literature. We begin with a text written in the late twentieth- or early twenty-first century. From there, we travel backwards in time several hundred years and work our way back to the present, thinking about how the ideas and cultures we encounter along the way change our understanding of the text with which we began.
