FAC 410 - Creative Futures
This course helps students prepare for the transition into a career through in-depth explorations of vocation and professional paths. Students learn about and plan for career-enhancing opportunities including practicums, internships, study abroad, and graduate study. They also prepare professional materials including resumes and portfolios for different contexts, with a focus on transferable skills. The course addresses unique needs of students majoring in the College of Fine Arts and Communication, such as creator burnout, arts and the public good, freelancing, and self-promotion. In addition to working with Career Services and the Living Well Center for Vocation, students learn from professionals and alumni working in creative-and sometimes unexpected-fields.
