PHY 303 - Thermodynamics and Kinetic Theory


Prerequisite(s): PHY 291   and PHY 292   both with minimum grade of C-/1.7, or CHE 104   and CHE 104L  ; MAT 270   with minimum grade of C-/1.7 or MAT 165  .
Thermal properties, temperature scales and heat; properties of gases, entrophy, first and second law; applications. Kinetic theory, Maxwell distribution, statistical mechanics. When Offered: On demand Cross-listed CHE 351
