MUS 270 - Worship

A study of Christian worship as a historical, theological, and cultural practice. The course examines how worship has developed across time, attending to its ritual, artistic, musical, linguistic, and architectural dimensions. Students will explore a range of worship traditions with particular attention to Western Christian and African American worship, while also considering how worship practices reflect and shape the communities that use them.
