NUR 245 - Introductory Concepts of Professional Nursing



Prerequisite(s): BIO 281   with grade of C-/1.7 or better. Student must meet GPA requirement for the school of nursing. 
Co-requisite(s): BIO 282  with grade of C-/1.7 or better. 
Building on previous knowledge, this course develops competencies associated with professional nursing. Students will learn about concepts associated with the management of care for individuals. The concept of health, including the meanings of health and disease in selected areas of the world, is introduced. Healthcare delivery systems from around the globe are discussed.  Students will focus on the development of knowledge associated with the domains of knowledge for nursing practice, systems-based practice, population health, professionalism, and personal, professional, and leadership development. When Offered: Spring, Summer.
