PSY 251 - Statistical Methods in Psychology
Prerequisite(s): PSY 100 .
This course focuses on the theoretical and practical implications of primary descriptive and inferential analyses for the purpose of scientific research. Goals of the course are twofold: to provide students with 1) core knowledge in the foundations of descriptive and inferential techniques (e. g. , ability to calculate and interpret a t-test for independent means) and 2) experience with using statistical software (i. e. , SPSS) to analyze data sets. Students will gain valuable skills in data analysis that constitutes a key piece of the psychological research process. When Offered: Fall and Spring.
